After the massive Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of May 24, the building of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Institute and the Dominican monastery was also damaged. As a result of a missile strike on a neighboring building, the blast wave shattered windows and doors in the Institute, the monastery, and other premises — in total, around 50 windows and doors were damaged. The chapel’s stained-glass windows were blown out, and the Aula Magna also suffered significant damage.
Despite the destruction, the Dominicans and the Institute community continue their work and are cleaning and restoring the damaged spaces.
Today, the Institute urgently needs support, especially financial assistance, in order to restore the damaged windows and doors as quickly as possible.
